Working Hard to Include Disabled Brothers and Sisters
We at Masjid Al Hidayah, together with local agencies, have set up the Al Hidayah Disability Support Network
The whole aim is to work together with local scholars, public sector organisations, charities, and voluntary groups to see how we can best meet the religious and social needs of disabled brothers and sisters living in the community.
We hope to hold talks, seminars and meetings to see how we can best achieve our aims and to serve the needs of this valuable group in our society.
After all, these brothers and sisters have a unique connection with Allah (swt) and through serving them we hope to gain a place in their hearts and their duas.
DISABILITY AWARENESS EVENT
This is to remind you of a Disability Awareness Event in North Kirklees (Dewsbury) on Thursday 16th October. 2008.
Venue: Thornhill Lees Community Centre, Brewery Lane
10.30am to 1.30pm (free lunch provided)
Free transport for people with a disability: Call Tariq on 07878 104930
We have invited local madressahs, community organisations, special schools and people from the community to attend this important event to improve their understanding of disability issues and to make service providers aware of appropriate needs. Several service providers from health and social care will be attending and displaying their work and equipment at this event. We are hoping that as many people as possible become aware of this event, especially if a family member or someone you know has a disability.
